Was hoping the prices were just a reflection of DVDs mass appeal and a drop in the cost of manufacture, rather than using cheap innards. How are the 48/24 layers of these discs? Are they the same informationa as the hi-rez at a lower sample rate or are they just slapped on as afterthouhts? In other words, if I were to buy Yes' Fragile DVD-A to replace my ancient, horrible CD from the 80s, would I notice a quality improvement on my Philips 963SA?
