The standards I personally would hold a reviewer to would be consistent regardless of publication. I don't happen to think receiving trinkets or buying gear wholesale from companies you've just reviewed is best journalistic practice. The fact that an audio reviewer isn't paid much or does it part time does not in my mind mitigate that.
