These SoCal winds/fires have resulted in Edison cutting off power in Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS), not just to areas at/near fire but also many areas nowhere near fires but are labeled as having even moderately higher fire risk. Last week, Edison cut off power to my neighborhood, nowhere near fire, for 48 hours, so I had to throw away everything in my refrigerator. Then they cut off power for about a day again a couple of days later.
One could technically try to get reimbursement from Edison, but one first needs to submit detailed receipts of everything that was in fridge.
I need to figure out a way to keep at least the fridge going during these PSPS, so if I have to run my car, yeah...
