....and I can understand transport being damaged during shipping, but power transformer, too? It was well packaged.
This is B&O flagship deck in 70's, when B&O took robustness of their products seriously.
Follow Ups:
"It was well packaged."
Sometimes all the packing in the world won't save you from the incompetence of the Ding-A-Ling Express (my name used to encompass all shipping companies).
I once shipped an amp (Mark Levinson 332) that was double boxed inside two double-thick cardboard boxes, and surrounded by 4 inches of molded foam on all sides. Fedex dropped it, and the force of the impact was so great that it snapped the main output board in half, and bent a solid steel bolt that was used to attach one of the feet to the bottom of the amp. No damge to the outer box, and the amp's casing itself was still flawless.
You are being entirely unreasonable. Period.
What's the seller's Ebay ID? She seems to be an honest seller and I'd like to keep her ID handy... I might even buy something from her based on your story.
I already had said I was not going to post her id just in case she is really innocent as a matter of giving her benefit of doubt.

....but unlike your case above, the power transformer was not broken, in fact, nothing was physically broken. So your analogy above doesn't appy to my case. Nothing is broken, it just doesn't power on.
Btw. Why don't you show your id so that I can avoid bidding for what you have for sale? This way, we both can save potential headaches.
My ebay id is hyok2006.
You're a twit - send the item back, get your refund and give her a positive because she took care of you.
It's the self annoited high and mighty self righteous folks like yourself that make eBay such a crummy experience.
........yes, she did, and it was DOA, and that's why I have the right to judge her just as anyone can judge me if I sold something by claiming fully tested and working, and turns DOA.
even though she's willing to refund your money based on your detective work you're considering giving her a negative?
Why don't you threaten her maybe she'll refund your money and let you keep the item you admit you still want?
..... to infer from what I had said.
Just because I stated that the deck I received is not what she claimed it to be doesn't necessarily mean I claim she lied.
The deck could have been fine she tested it, it just got damaged somehow during transit
Considering the possibility doesn't necessarily mean certainty.
Maybe you should take a refresher course in logic?
there's no certainty to be had so why keep talking about it here? Just send it back and get your refund and leave positive or no feedback with an explanation that there was a functionality issue but she acted right about it if you go positive.
Bass is supposed to sound big. 6.5" is not a woofer size.

........in other similar cases, business transactions.
"...there's no certainty to be had so why keep talking about it here?"
To see if anyone has better reasoning than mine, and if there is, so that I could learn from it.
"Just send it back and get your refund and leave positive or no feedback with an explanation that there was a functionality issue....."
...that is just to cut and dry, I want to see if there would be more optimal solution for both of us.
"... but she acted right about it if you go positive."
I do not understand your logic above, how could she have acted right about something that I haven't even done yet?

Stop beatin' it into the ground. It ain't doin' nobody no good.
