It's used for suppressing or dissipating the RF noise. I don't know much about the technical things, but i read about the choke and decided to try. The result is pleasing.
Alan and many other inmates would probably give you better explaination.I just wire hot and neutral from electrical wire (14 gauge) to each lead from the choke , and wire the neutral to the choke chasis. Then connect to electrical outlet which my system connected to.
About he JR filter, i honestly don't know about it. Other may jump in for the answer.
