OK, I have a couple questions, as well as a few statements for you to consider:1. If it was not intended to offend, then what was the intent? I mean, what is someone to think with a subject heading of "ZZzzzzzzzz."?
2. If you wish you could read some more "up-to-the-point advice" (not sure what exactly you mean by "up-to-the-point", which implies arrival at a destination of some sort) instead of (replaces "than a") long, long (added comma) lecture with (delete "piece of") no subject, then you could simply just ask, as the original poster did.
3. I'm not sure about your level of experience or expertise with electronics, and I will certainly not make any claim of being an expert on the subject myself, but I simply will NOT suggest ANY kind of circuit modification without knowing what kind of circuit is being discussed, ESPECIALLY if someone is using headphones.
4. Related to number 3 above, I will NOT suggest circuit mods without knowing exactly what is going into and out of, the object in question. The peak-to-peak output voltage of a CD player, a tuner, and a turntable are all quite different, as are their output impedances. Again, your skill in electronics may far outstrip mine.
5. I wanted to make sure that the original poster, to whom I assumed I was speaking, and I were talking about the same thing when we were using the word "dynamics", because use of the term varies. Many people assume it means "bigger bass", which can be a part of bigger dynamics, but not the whole picture. Does it not make sense for us to agree on semantics, so that we don't wind up talking about two totally different things?
6. I wanted to make the point that often people forget to look for a dynamic increase by lowering what the softer end of the spectrum is doing. Most people simply want to find a way to make the loud end louder, and with only 9V peak-to-peak, your choices on the louder end may be limited, especially if the headphones are hard to drive. Doesn't this seem like a logical thing to establish so that we can find a way to help the original poster?
7. I did put a friendly warning about length at the top, did you think I was kidding?
8. If you found the posting so boring as to cause you to use "ZZzzzzzzzz." as a subject heading to a response, why didn't you just stop reading? Especially since I also put a suggestion to simply scroll to the bottom if the length became bothersome?
9. If the posting truly did put you to sleep, I would like to know if it put anyone else to sleep also, because if it did, IT'S MY POST! I CLAIM COPYRIGHT! There, now I can contact pharmaceutical companies and try to sell this to the world's insomniacs at a profit.
10. Cheap-Jack, if you've read this far, why?
