Your cleartops are about as good as anything else mentioned here. I would get Herbie's tube rings.

The Herbie's will stop microphonics "dead in their tracks".

They also tend to make your system sound better.

If you must get different tubes, my opinions after playing with trillions of different AU7's--

- Amperex -- old and made in Holland -- are the best

- Truly old Mullards are second best. Don't waste your money on any that were made after the 1960s. The newer ones are horrible.

- Brimars can be beautiful sounding.

- Don't get Telefunken. Sounds weird. But at first they will be appealing.

- Don't bother with the rest (CBS, Raytheon, whatever) because although they sound 'good', you will end up continuing to tube roll and spending more money.
