Although your final figures (108dB requires 128w) are correct, you did make a small error. Look at what you wrote:Let's say they are rated at 87 dB. This means that they will deliver a sound level of 87 dB at 1 meter when driven by one watt of power. To add another 3 dB of sound, you must double the power. So, to produce 91 dB of sound at 1 meter, you need 2 watts of power.
87 + 3 = 90.
