Hi, Fred,I saw that post but didn't reply to it because I haven't used 12AX7s in a similar circuit to the one I did with 6SU7s, so I really don't have anything to compare. I do like my current phono circuit better than any others I've heard, but I haven't heard any of the highly rated 12AX7 circuits like the Asthetix, etc., only a modded PAS 3 and my Music Ref. RM-5 which has 2 6DJ8s. If you're interested, I published my circuit in AudioXpress a few years ago - it's a modification of JC Morrison's Siren Song with more accurate RIAA equalization and lots of chokes in the power supplies.
