Agreed that the gold plating is well done etc. etc. Toshiba made decent 12AX7 tubes and not surprised that these work great in many systems.In our experience, Toshiba pre’s tend to test very well. We’ve just finished testing a large lot of Toshiba 12AU7 industrial variant, most of which have exact match between the triodes and all tubes test within 100 mmhos on a typical reading of 3000 mmhos.
Multiple tests for any number of parameters, even platinum plating with extra sandblasting does not make these Telefunken, Mullard or something else. These shall remain, and sound like Toshiba 12AX7 from that era.
