I got a Citation II a bit ago. I acquired a full kit from Jim and rebuilt it. It's running an ancient set of Type II( also Jim's ). It's the best 'off the rack' vintage amp I've heard yet.There's usually a lot of bad talk of these due to their amount of NFB. Most of it is on the front side of the outputs, in the form of nested plate-to-grid, with a little bit of loop from the OPTx secondary. For such elemplary output TX's this is not as bad as it might otherwise appear.
The next beef is because it's all pentodes...all I have to say is that thank God the religious fanatics haven't taken a liking to this amp, or it would be unaffordable. I have remarkably little in mine, but that's mostly luck and condition. Anybody have a spare bottom plate? I'd really like to have a complete amp...:)
