I'll think about your generous offer rather than reply right now because I have some other stuff going on in my life right now that needs more immediate attention.BTW, yes, the bass is WAY more powerful than the previous Svets. Perhaps my ears ARE the culprit. It wouldn't surprise me at all. The dealer from whom I got these has a sterling reputation. I'm sure the tubes are fine. I guess the lack of glow in the filaments caused me to jump to conclusions...another neurotic audiophile.
Thanks, Jim. I think you may have solved the problem. Incidentally, the PS Audio speaker cable is very bass-heavy, too—I bought them originally to restore some weakish bass in my system (M-L CLS II's). I'm actually pretty satisfied with the bass of the GE's.
