As I noted, I got the amps in 1996 and the Svetlanas became available shortly thereafter (I think CJ switched to the Svets sometime during the Premier 12 production run). The GEs always tested poorly, compared to the Svets, and seemed to get darker inside with age -- it's hard to describe and remember, after almost a decade. There was considerable bad-mouthing of the GEs at the time, relative to the Svets, and I was happy to see that their reputation was restored later, since I had hung onto the last eight, the ones I replaced, and got a small fortune for them :-)
