I have been running 2 matched quads of EH KT-88 for three+ years. I always was very happy with the audio performance. Over that time, 3 failed due to spectacular internal shorts which also took out cathode resistors. 2 recently went "red plate" simultaneously. Since I DIY, fixing the amps has only been a mild headache, so far. My EH vendor has been very good about replacing failed tubes.I am presently running one matched quad of Penta Labs KT-88SC in one of my amps to see how those perform. Sound so far is very good.
