Just a couple of things to consider:1. When you plug a 5751 into a circuit that uses NFB, the lower gain means lower feedback. This in turn can reduce the energy at the frequency extremes.
2. I'm sure every one knows by now, but a 5751 is not exactly the same as a 12AX7, it has a mu that is 30% lower.
FWIW, my 5751 supply is virtually gone too, and I have no source of resupply. A few may pop up here and there, but that seems to be about it.
BTW - I have some KT77 JJ due in next week, I'll pass on my observations from the test bench ASAP.
