"... I (sic) not sure what you mean by "dark"." I said that recently; someone then said it's the opposite of 'bright'.

So bright is too much treble energy, while dark is not enough (or at least significantly less) treble energy.

Of course 'warm' is a slight excess (compared with 'flat') of lower-midrange and upper-bass energy. Too much of that turns into 'thick'. Not enough is 'lean' or 'thin'. Speakers that sound lean or thin rob symphonic music of its power and emotion, for me. I balance my speakers to be warm AND dark. Accurate they're not; GREAT-SOUNDING (to me) they are!
