Oh yeh! I've been using some of the SED KT88's, that Abe disliked, in one of my amps. I recently put that amp into a different system and had to change out the KT88's and replace them with 6550C's to get a balanced sound. From my point of view, apart from quality of manufacture, its only about what sounds good to you in your system, and we all have such different goals in that regard. :-)
