Re: What's a detailed but smooth 6922?

Tried S&H 7308's, a little hard sounding. Tungsrams not open enough, white lable Amperex pq's just right! That's in my Cat Ultimate and formerly in a Cat sl1 mk2 in the phono and line input stage. The Cat is a bit clinical sounding for a tube preamp that is already pretty detailed so depending on the preamp you have, the Seimens may be fine. Take a look at Joe's tube lore in the FAQ's section of the asylum for a wealth of info. Asking for help from other owners of your exact model of preamp here and the amp/preamp section will certainly yeald a more relevent answer.
