Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I'm using a pair of Gallo Ref 3s (see my review), currently with a Cary SLP-98 and Odyssey Stratos. I'm very happy with the sound, but I'm planning to pick up a tube power amp to swap out with the Stratos when I'm "in the mood"; e.g. tubes in the winter, Stratos in the summer, etc.
Question is: How much power do the inmates think I'll need? I have used a Prima Luna ProLogue One (35 wpc) with the Gallos and had good results, but I would like to hear others' experience with the Gallos. I'm also planning to add the Gallo SA Reference amp for the 2nd voice coil, so that will arguably expand my choices. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

- What's the power of the Stratoses? SS? What's the nominal impedance of the 3? (NT) - jeffreybehr 11:00:16 11/18/05 (3)

- I would think almost any modern tubed poweramp with at least c. 75WPC would sound... - jeffreybehr 10:17:54 11/19/05 (1)
