Here's a fact. The only way that products made overseas would be sold in the US at their current price would be if the labor wage paid to the US worker would be the same wage as paid to the overseas worker. If US parts producer pay the US wage, the cost will increase accordingly, however, technology will reduce that cost somewhat but with increased cost of capital. Bottom line onshoring most products will increase the cost to consumers and we are still left with the fact that many raw materials will remain imports as they are not available in the US. The tariff stick will cause some onshoring but the carrot of incentives will do it also.
