Easy to get a broad 6 db impact suck out in midrange if the relationship between speaker driver height and listeners ears is not addressed. The magnitude of impact is individual speaker design layout and xover implemented
For many a two way, one inch below correct height at listening distance (15 degree above tweeter) can easily be 3 db drop from 800ish to 2200ish.
I guess I'm not fully in touch with how to get others involved in speaker building or improving. Was not that long ago ability to measure was a significant tool and software investment, and found that to be an impediment to spawning new participants. Kinda like telling someone interested in crafting wood that they had to get a CNC machine first, when I'd say they could start by whittling.
