Recapped Legacy Speakers today,
NOS caps from my parts bin, Bennic, Dayton, and Solens,,
Removed added coil from woofer,.. woofer is now running full-range.
X-over was a easy upgrade, removed 32 and 6 uf caps with heat gun, then de-soldered from coil.
I replaced internal wiring (18awg?) with 14awg, ala "White Lightning".
Very easy to mod these.
I dropped the 1.3 ohm resistor, Seems much cleaner.
After listening for an hour or so, I am very happy with the sound improvement from the original "lytic" caps.
They sound like new vintage speakers now.
I have not changed the speaker terminals from clip to banana jacks
yet...all this took me 6 hours or so.
I want to thank every one for their expertise and encouragement,
My next project is refurbishing my Sansu au317.
What Silicone heat paste should I use?
