In my opinion, the kind of things described in the article have nothing to do with Vince being part of the Dead.
It sounds like a disease from which there is little hiding place.
The feelings of being dis-owned could have been with family or friends or a plumbing firm.
I am sure everyone close to him, now feels they could have done more, but the truth is that its unlikely anyone could have done enough. And no one is likely to be prepared to sacrifice their own life to support his.
Sad but true.
