I'll tell you one thing, it is a good source of information for different classic rock cd pressings. Some of these guys own or have owned and compared every cd version of a particular title. If you do a search on an album, you'll find yourself with every minute detail about it (sometimes soundclips and waveforms are posted). One guy has 65 cd's of the Jimi Hendrix catalog alone. I don't know if the differences are that huge (as compared to Lp pressings). I have noticed that many remasters of say the last 5 years have usually been no better or worse. Modern Vs. old A/D converters may be less a factor than what they do to the tape in the mastering process.
