Some remasters do sound better, but as you say alot
are remastered HOT and compressed to death. I have
some older CDs(1988-1992) that sound pretty
decent, but some sound terrible. Whether it had to
do with old technology A->D converters or that
they were not copied from original master tapes,
some SUCK....no bass and dull sounding to me.
I guess CDs are alot like various vinyl pressings
of a given album. Some are definitely better than
others....
