I disagree

To last 100 years, music has to jump generations. The original generation will follow the music of their youth all their lives.

OK, I will state from what I've seen that Led Zepplin has jumped generations. People in their 40s and 50s are the original LZ generation. But guess what, my 16 yo nephew and his friends also like them a lot, along with a bunch of newer stuff like Opeth and System of a Down.

I would say Sinatra has jumped generations. It is pretty certain that people who weren't born in the 40s and 50s are listening to his music of that era. I don't have a crystal ball, but it seems to me both Sinatra and Led Zepplin will be well known 100 years hence.
