You can't go wrong with artists recommended by Barney. A couple more to albums to consider are:
Johhny Griffin-The Cat
Johnny Griffin - Do nothing till you hear from meThere are also some excellent alto sax artists you should check out. Frank Morgan, Lou Donaldon and Art Pepper come to mind. Also some tenors would include Stanley Turrentine, Houstin Person, Eddie Lockjaw Davis. Finally, don't under estimate some of the current artists such as Bransford Marsalis (Trio Jeepy), Donald Harrisson (Nouveau Jazz) or Eric Alexander (Alexander the Great).
