It's nice to know it was being played in the moment.Strange though that when in the hall you can here every program that gets leafed through or wrapper that gets unwrapped... not to mention coughs or dropped canes, etc. Also strange that they cut out any applause at the end.
In their live DG recordings available on iTunes the appplause are there in all their glory. Although, having been at a performance when one of the iTunes concerts was being recorded (LVB 5 - if you don't have it it's worth having), I do recall that Salonen did ask the audience to be extra quiet.
