Re: Requiems

I noticed that some of your selections and some of the very good suggestions given below are not requiem masses but would be very good selections. I would add the following:

Mozart: Vesperae Solennes de Confessore (particularly the Laudate)
Michael Haydn: Missa Pro Defuncto Archiepiscopo Sigismundo.

Both of these works are exceptionally beautiful and moving and they also can be easily excerpted. The Haydn piece (Franz Joseph's younger brother) was the "inspiration" for Mozart's Requiem (personally, I like the Haydn piece more).
