While Im late to this party I have been experimenting with Ali-E fau-Nordost; XLRs, speaker, coax cables, and power cordsMy system is 100% SS; Audiolab CDT 6000 transport, Audio Alchemy DDP-1 (dac/pre)+ PS5, either a Ric Schultz EVS 1200 class D dual Icepower As1200 modules, or a Voyager 350 GaN amp, Emerald Physics 3.4s (12" concentric driver with one inch polyester tweeter, outboard XOs), CorePower 1800 PLC and 20 amp dedicated line
I first started with Odin 2 coax/XLR/speaker cables, and PCs. Excellent speed, but a bit 2 dimensional and hot on top, even with 1" polyester tweeters. I then slowly moved to Odin Gold XLRs, and PCs. Much better! Alas, DIY HiFi did not sell the Odin Gold speaker cables, which I bought from Goltech. Most unfortunately, one side was maybe 80-90% sound with no way for me to test. It took about 2 months back and forth but they did replace it, requiring me to make a purchase. No biggies as I wanted to try a pair of Odin 2 jumpers. Well, I finally got them late last week (I cleaned the contacts with 100% denatured alcohol then treated them with Mad Scientist's Carbon contact enhancer, as I did all the other cables. It took about 2 days or ~ 4 hours of playback before they started to become very holographic and richer/warmer-SWEET! For the first time, listening to YoYo Ma's Appalachian Spring, his cello exuded the warmth I had been missing. Ditto voices, guitars, drums...
