Xangsane vs "Odin 2" interconnect comparison

Gustard X26Pro DAC-> Schiit Jotunheim R amp driving Raal SR1a ribbon headphones. I can quickly switch between "Odin 2" XLR cable and Xangsane RCA cable, with gain matching by ear. This chain is Extremely revealing.

Generally, I was not surprised at all by how either sounded. "Odin 2" represents the best of how silver-clad copper solid core copper wire suspended in air can sound vs. Xangsane's rectangular solid core silver in FEP can sound.

Xangsane advantages. This wire is smoother in treble and critical upper-midrange, typical of pure silver over silver-clad copper. There is more seemingly high treble air with overall more velvety presentation throughtout midrange. If one is only used to run-of-the-mill copper cables, this presentation will sound quite different and refined. There is also probably deeper low, low bass extension, but lower-midrange and upper bass is richer and more impactful via "Odin 2."

"Odin 2" fights back with more vivid and probably artificially lit-up upper midrange and midrange. This makes midrange seem more forward and detailed, but poor recordings become more etchy through the mids. Typical of good silver-clad copper wire, driving music and pop/rock benefit from more solid and impactful lower-mid to upper-bass range. This is the fun boogie factor. This "Odin 2" has become preferred over many other cables in the past, and when I listen to pop/rock/EDM/metal, it sounds more exciting and powerful via "Odin 2."

A better cable would combine the refinement, air, and smoothness of Xangsane with vividness and drive of "Odin 2," but hey, both are perfectly capable of being centerpices of really high-level systems IMO.
