When I ordered the Odin 2 XLRs, I thought I was ordering a pair, but received only one. I ordered another (which cost more than the first one) - the locking ball on one of the female connectors was missing.
Other than that, no issues with the connectors. They slide in OK and do not hang or move around too much. I wouldn't call the fit snug, but it is OK.
Not sure what your malady is. If you could get inside the connector, you could use a continuity test to find a faltering joint (jiggle it around a bit). If it is not a solder joint, but an external loose fit issue, teflon tape around the connector or a cable support of some kind may help.
