Your shish-kabob suggestion got me thinking. As luck would have it I could not find any skewers in bamboo...only stainless steel. So I took a trip over to Michaels and found small bundles of bamboo for sale. Out of these I made the cable elevator in the photo above.As per your suggestion I did use a rubber band to hold the sticks (tubes) together
But then I added a wrap of leather (suede cowhide)on top of the rubber band glued to itself.
Next I cut out of heavy paper a jig to hold the legs in their fixed position.
Following the jig, I poured some all purpose epoxy into the joint area, then waited for the epoxy to cure.
I could pour in more epoxy, to encapsulate the joint, but I've noticed that it is holding quite firmly as is.
Nice idea, bamboo. I like working with it. Thanks!
