Re: how does this look for an initial try?

Above image shows the initial crude prototype cable elevator.

This photo gives a better view of the methods I resorted to.

I looked through my "stuff" and found that I had some heavy paper tubing that is commonly used to transport and store poster art and prints.

I used a miter saw to cut this length (4 inches)relatively squared off.

Then I used rubber cement to glue one end of the tube to a piece of flat card stock.

Once the cement was set I put kitty litter in a plastic bag, then stuffed the bag into the tube, making sure there was a protrusion of it above the walls of the tube.

I secured the baggie filled with kitty litter to the tube with transparent packing/shipping tape.

Then I wrapped the top of the assembly with plumbers teflon tape, securing that last wrap with more packing tape. (but making sure that it is the teflon tape that makes contact with the speaker cable.

My thinking at this moment is that I may have too much thickness of materials between the speaker cable and the kitty litter. The bag material may be too dense. There could be too much packing tape. The idea being for a resonant transfer between cable and and kitty litter. Optimally there would be a single think membrane layer holding the kitty litter in. Am I right...?
