RE: getting my Marantz 2238 serviced tomorrow

The flickering is caused by a failing power switch, a common problem on Marantz equipment with push button power switches. There's a guy on eBay who sells a replacement for less than $20. It's not original, but when installed you can't tell the difference. We've installed several. Marantz with flickering lights is unsafe to use, as the switch is neither on nor off, and dissipates power (heat). If your technician doesn't know about the Marantz power switches, tell him.
