in auditioning your amp/receiver ? Since speaker matching and placement is so subjective, I've been using a pair of Sennheiser HD280s to check out my Marantz 2265B system. The HD280's are very transparent with an extended flat response. Using several familiar classical and jazz recordings, I can compare the sound of the cans with that of various CD/DVD-A players and speakers and make the proper selections.Barney
