Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

I beliive it is a varactor design...

and it isn't digital except for display, analog LO and varactor tuning. It is pretty for sure but a modern Accuphase will eat it with ease. I have a T-1000 and have owned a T-100 and still also have a T-101. The Accuphase tuners from the latest group: T-1000, T-1100, and T-1200 are far and away the finest tuners ever designed and built. Nothing touches them including the fabled Sequerras, Kenwoods and Sansuis. I send 24/48k out to my computer from the T-1000 and do room correction and transcode it to DSD256 with HQPlayer into my DAC. There is no classic tuner that can touch that sound quality. And trust me when I say that it is one of my best sources with my local jazz station. Skip the Goldmund unless you are a collector of Swiss things for the sake of it.
