I have based my recommendations around my own experience with identical circuits but several brands/types of transformer.
We use Lundahl C cores in out production amps, and they (at least claim to) use a specifically defined airgap set by a plastic spacer inserted between the two "C core" halves, and I can hear no sonic losses when there are up to 4mA unbanced DC between the two halves - but all the EI's I have tried, which range from Dyna ST70' OPTs up to James manufactured top of the line "Tamura"s, have clearly noticable sonic losses with less than 1mA DC imbalance in a very high resoltion system!
I have not had the chance to use any of your OPTs - only becuase I was rather frightened off by the quote you once gave me for the best Peerless design that would have suited...
