My ST-70 bears almost no resemblence to the original, using 6B4G drivers, the Curcio CCDA driver, a 5U4 rectifier. The only thing left is the chassis, the transformers, the choke, and the screw speaker terminals. Those terminals gotta go and get replaced by some modern binding posts. The power cord also needs replacing but it isn't even an original.Once I got going with small mods it seemed like it didn't matter about the big ones. There are plenty of ST-70s out there so I don't feel like I'm killing a classic.
