what is the most you will do to your amps...??

I know a lot of people value the originality of the vintage tube amps, while some will tweak and mod to their ears' desire. Usually I will first tweak by eliminating controls such as speaker selector, mod switch, filters, and possibly tone control....
Recently I have gone extreme on the mods. I will above and beyond the above tweak, use only volume control and redesign the driver amp in the power amp section as well as tune the bias as I like the 'improvement' at least to my ears and to my friends' ears.
For example, I just finish tweaking the HK Ballad amp with just half 12AX7 driving the EL84 PP output in long tailed, while reducing the bias on the EL84 to less then 30ma per tube.
Just wonder how others are doing and what was the farthest they will do on an amp they intend to keep!
