I had my first experience with cryo treated tubes about a month ago and it was on a quad of 6L6gc tubes military russian version and I compared them to the identical ones I have in a pair of modded heath w5ms.The the non treated ones didnt add a brittleness to the sound that the cryo version did and the cryos produced 2 watts less power per pair than did the non cryos.
I could never understand where freezing tubes at 360 below and then then taking them to 360 above for 36 hours improves the tube..All I can see is welds weakening and eventually breaking loose and parts of the tube crumbling.I dont know that they ever even tested longevity of the tube once its treated with that crap.Who knows? If you get quality tubes, there is no reason to alter them.
