In principle you could also put a choke in series with your filter caps such that they resonate at 120Hz or 100Hz. At resonance the impedance of the series pair would dip very low, but it would go up at higher frequencies so you would need additional capacitance in parallel.

The choke wouldn't need to be very big. If you've got 100uF of capacitance then you'd need only about 18mH of inductance. I don't know how practical it would be, but if you're experimenting, what the heck ...
