I've used them extensively, they work very well as long as you keep any DC out of them (parafeed or balanced differential etc) and you don't have too big a signal level. Preamp levels are fine, I would NOT use one to drive a 300B for instance.The other problem with them is they are not shielded and run at high impedance levels, they pick up everything, proper placement is crucial to get good results out of them.
