Why UL?

UL in a single ended is not a good thing. Remember your trying to optimize the L in the output for the best results. Putting a tap in there and then pulling more current in half (or whatever the % is) is a terrible thing. I do a lot of Pentode guitar amps and never use the TAP to create a UL. Especially considering the amount of current change that tap can have. Instead I typically use a dropping resistor or VR tube and a bypass as it makes the amp soft clip much better.
Only my 2 cents...
I also direct couple my Pentodes input grids so the amp goes A/A2 plus that drive really kicks butt.
