Would you be kind enough to expand on this? I have been told that any tube equipment that hasn't been run in years needs to be run up on a variac and that power amps need to have a load on their outputs to prevent some bad mojo (technical term) from happening. What's the straight scoop, from you're perspective? The reason I ask? I just looked at a preamp that hasn't been run in six years and didn't want to buy it unless it has been "run up on a variac" first.
