I think you meant to say "...for increasing the current rating to meet the load reqirements." Unless I've misunderstood Drlomu, he's referring to parallel contacts each of which would be sufficient to carry the entire load current. Under those conditions, a simple spark quencher would ensure good electrical longevity, and the multiple contacts would reduce resistance sufficiently to avoid coloring the sound.
