Is your amp two stage or three?? Two stages gains transparency>

It's all DHT, so three stages are needed, but since DHTs have more transparency anyway, it should be better than the high mu input, two stage option. Certainly it's the clearest and most detailed I've heard to date. I'm still juggling things about, and need to improve the voicing. I'm using 3A5 input into 1H4G into 2a3. Both the 3A5 and 1H4GT (octal 30) are brighter sounding so I need one to be replaced with a warmer more bassy option. It would be nice to use the 26, and maybe put that in the input and use 3A5 as a druver. Need some of that smooth warm sound. I'm now convinced that 3 stages of DHT is the way to go - no doubt in my mind. I'll have to build on 2 monoblok chassis to get the tubes I want on board - stereo chassis too small - it's full! My amps are balanced, so there's a lot in there when you consider all the filament supplies and CCSs. Eventually I'll be aiming to use 26 and maybe 46. 3A5 is a useful stand-in tube since it's tiny and a dual DHT, so ideal for balanced circuits, but like I say has to be combined with something warmer.
