Do me a favor and drop the argument that a inductor will meet 'critical inductance' at some frquency. True enough, but who cares? Unless you have some non standard power in you house, it's what happens at 100 or 120 Hz (the ripple frequency of a full wave rectifier) that's important.Maybe we should use switching supplies the operate at 50 - 100 KHz, and all of us will be happy ...
