Thanks for that link Eli. I purchased two of the 8920's to experiment with. Unfortunately, I have a fairly high impedance preamp, so I will have to research voltage follower buffering.

I managed to borrow an AVA unit for the past couple of days (tube hybrid) that is currently being used with a pair of ST-70's and PAS3 (prem mods). The pair of MC-275's with the AVA inverter really drive the big hartley's nicely. I have tried the 275's in factory mono form, and they sound weak and dull. I wish I could afford the AVA unit, but it is simply out of reach...unless I stop feeding my family.

The 8920's should arrive next week. I'll post again when I get them up and running.
