...for a while now, and that is that I don't think there are black and white advantages in terms of sonic qualities in different tubes so much as it's a matter of matching the circuit (the whole kielbasa) to the tube you want to use.So, when a person is tube rolling, they're finding which tubes work best in that particular circuit with those particular speakers - not which tubes are absolutely "better".
Although I will contradict myself and say there is a reason I have data for that properly supplied DHT's should sound better than indirectly heated tubes, but I'm not quite ready to put up the page yet where I'll explain that. Later!
